The farm had the pleasure of welcoming last summer three rustic Berkshire pigs. The first seven piglets were born spring of last year. What have they been up too since then? They have been busy plowing a part of the orchard, preparing it for the culture of fruit trees. Everything is recycled in our environment; the pigs are fed with whey milk gathered during the cheese production process and they love it!
The Berkshire pig race is from an old England source. At Les fromages du verger, we take care of them, like we take care of our sheep; naturally. No growth hormones, vaccines or antibiotics are used. The high quality meat is usually chosen by top of line restaurants and fine butchers’ stores.
